Equine Therapy Touches Hearts...

Many stories have been told down through the centuries about the connection between horse and human. When trust has been damaged by life's experiences (especially those in the "wet cement" formative years between conception and about seven) it can be tenderly restored through a relationship with a gentle animal.

Equine Therapy is a field that is growing rapidly as people are discovering how valuable it is as a tool for emotional growth and learning. Workshop participants interact with the horses, then process their feelings, behaviors, and patterns as they surface.

Although riding on the trails is part of the Border Mountain experience, workshop attendees are not required to ride the horse and no previous experience with horses is necessary to benefit from the program.

Massage therapy and private counseling are a special component of these workshops. All necessary buildings are wheelchair accessible.

Benefits of the equine therapy component of the workshops include:

"Horses don't lie...You must open your mind and allow your horse to show you how to communicate with the same depth and transparency it has."
